Q: Why is smooth-bore preferred over corrugated PTFE when paired with a stainless steel braid?
A: Smooth-bore paired with an SS braid provide the highest pressure rating possible for a PTFE hose. No convolutions means no physical "waves" to stretch under pressure, So max the hose's hoop strength. Additionally, the smooth liner ensures max flow rate and prevents the trapping of sticky fluids, pigments, or bacteria, making it much easier to flush out and clean.
Q: What are the pressure limitations of a smooth-bore SS braided PTFE hose?
A: Working pressures depends on the hose inside diameter (ID) . Smaller sizes like 1/4" ID with a single SS braid working pressures up to 3,000 PSI, Or larger sizes like 1" ID may drop to around 400-500 PSI. If you want large size with big pressure . Q: Is this steel-braided smooth PTFE hose flexible enough for tight spaces?
A: YES. Because the flat inner hose and SS braided cover . The bend radius (stiffer) is larger than the corrugated ptfe hose. For small diameters (1/4" to 3/8"), it is highly flexible . But if the hose ID is incerase , it will becomes stiffer. When use it , pls avoid over bending . If you need extreme bending inside tight enclosures, pls choose our SS braided Corrugated ptfe hose .
